Harvest Wiener Roast with family Oct. 10, 2010
We had a wonderful time with our family last night. We gathered together for a wiener roast. The weather was very warm, but once the sun went down the fire felt good. It was so good to see our greats and grandchildren and children. Here are some pictures we took.
This was a full moon picture just rising in the East.

Family time Memorial Day
Here are some pictures from our family time during Memorial Day and a cook-out at Matt and Rachel's. Thought you'd enjoy our little birds that built a nest in my hanging basket. Summer is flying by so fast, so thought I should update our blog. Our family is all doing well. We thank you all for your prayers.Thursday, April 29, 2010
Back in Illinois
We are back in Illinois. It has been 2 1/2 weeks already. We had a safe flight back and sorta hit the ground running. All my tulips and daffodils were done blooming already. The yard needed mowing again. Jacob and Samantha had mowed it twice and it was ready for the next mowing. We had garden coming up, thanks to Alan, who tilled the garden and planted us some early garden. We now have most of the garden out and it is started to come up. Mel has enjoyed being home and doing little things around the place (like starting the motors up and seeing that they are going)
He did find a problem with our boat motor. He found that mice had gotten in it and it was all packed with their chewings. After he removed that he found that they had chewed the gas line in two and some other wires. He had to take it over to Chenoa to be worked on.
So we are keeping busy, the asparagus is growing and needs picking almost every day. We have had lots of rhubarb sauce, which is Mel's favorite.
We attended Mary's senior recital last Saturday which was awesome. Tuesday I had a colonoscopy and esopogoloscopy, which I am very glad it is over. We were glad to be able to be back at Salem church as well and to see all our church family.
I have a few pictures to put on but somehow I can't make it work, so will try later.
Love and prayers to all our family and friends.

Samantha and Jacob's wedding
Our Granddaughter, Samantha Zehr was married Jan.
2, 2010 to Jacob Cernek. We flew there for the wedding over the week-end. It was a beautiful christian wedding and we are so pleased with Samantha and Jacob and there zeal to serve the Lord in the days ahead. It was fun to see most of our family and spend the week-end there even tho it was extremely cold. Here is a couple of pictures from the wedding.
